Faith Basics That Need To Be In Your Life
May 22, 2005
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may
be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you
ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend
what you get on your pleasures.
James 4:2-3
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by
prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the
peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the
habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see
the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:25
For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced
that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those
who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and
was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view.
Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:14-17
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but
by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have
the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you,
your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of
righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is
living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
Romans 9:8-11
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come
after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For
whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me
will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose
or forfeit his very self?
Luke 9:23-25
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man
remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do
nothing.
John 15:5
Command those who are rich in this present world not to
be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put
their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
1 Timothy 6:17
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap
sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man
should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under
compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. [And God is able to make all grace
abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you
will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all
men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4
Then Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in
such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" Paul replied,
"Short time or long--I pray God that not only you but all who are
listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains."
Acts 26:28-29
