A Radical Disciple
"Worry is wasting today's time to clutter up tomorrow's opportunities with yesterday's troubles."
Four Great Principles for Radical Discipleship
#1
And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink;
do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and
your Father knows that you need them.
Luke 12:29-30
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1
Peter 5:7
Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always
thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you."
1
Peter 5:7 (LB)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble.
Psalm 46:1
#2 Put God - Don't let the be #1.
But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to
you as well.
Luke 12:31
#3 Don't Give Into
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has
been pleased to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:32
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by
prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the
peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:5-7
#4 Your Worry Load
Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide
purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will
not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Luke 12:33-34
