Discovering God's Plan For My Life My Core Values
January 13, 2008
Are you hitting the right target as you are aiming your life?
What you cherish at your inner core is what you aim at with your life.
- What kind of things would you die for?
- What is most important in your life?
- Where do you refuse to bend?
- What values drive you?
- What gets you out of bed in the morning?
- What priorities in your life cause you to turn other options away?
- If money were no object, what would you do with the rest of your life?
2 Questions for you to begin uncovering your Core Values:
- What stirs a righteous anger inside of you?
- What makes you mad on God's behalf?
- What offends your sense of justice and morality?
- How might God want to use this in His bigger picture?
- What do you absolutely love...more than anything else?
- What type of relationships give you greatest meaning?
- What activities in your life bring you real fulfillment?
- How might God want to use this in His bigger picture?
Your Claimed Values vs. Your Practiced Values. Are they same?
- Claimed Values are those you say are important to you.
- Practiced Values are those you actually live with your actions.
*What is the gap between your Claimed Values & Practiced Values?
What you value in your core is measured by what you do.
Core Values Test: Put down your Claimed Values for a week and really watch how much time you invest in what you do.
Uncovering your Core Values...Keep asking the Lord:
- What makes me angry with a righteous anger?
- What do I absolutely love more than anything else?
