Becoming a Disciple of Jesus: Dealing with Doubt . . .

March 2, 2008

Becoming a Disciple: Review

  1. Differentiate between Christ and Christians.

  2. Awareness of the Lord's timing.

Today: How do I deal with doubts about God?

Some doubts I have when it comes to my faith in Jesus are...

Pretending you don't have doubts is NOT Real Discipleship.

A strange promise from God: He will strengthen your faith as you deal with doubt.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:12-15

The Doubting Thomas Process:

  1. Acknowledge your doubts - Be brutally honest with the Lord.

  2. Seek the Truth - Pursue the answers, don't just ask the questions.

  3. Watch God give you what you need to help you believe.

There is nothing sinful about dealing with doubt.

Be real about it. Seek the Lord. Watch Him work.
