Foundations in the Christian Faith

Would you like to become a member of the church? Do you need to understand what Mount Olive believes, teaches, and confesses as a congregation? Has it been a while since you considered the basics of the faith? Would a refresher in the Catechism be helpful? If so, this class is for you.

Starting in mid-July, 2021, Pastor John will teach a Sunday morning Bible class – Christianity 101. The class will include the basics of the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective. Who is God? What is the Bible? How does the death and resurrection of Jesus affect the lives and eternity of all those who believe? These questions will be central to the discussion, as well as topics about the Sacraments, Prayer, the Creeds, and the End Times.

The class will meet in the Community Life Center on Sundays during the education hour (following worship, approximately 10:30 AM). It will also be streamed so that those who are remote can also see, hear and participate. Remote participants will be able to ask questions by turning on the microphone on their device and we’ll be able to hear them in the CLC.

This class is literally for anyone who wants to attend – for long time members and for those who are new to the congregation. Everyone is welcome. We all have something we can learn and ways to contribute to the conversation. Join us in person, or via the stream as we learn and grow in faith together.
